Hosted by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Maryland PTA, the forum provided an opportunity to hear first-hand about the CCSS and ask questions about the implementation. Other speakers included Interim Superintendent Nancy Highsmith, Maryland PTA president Ray Leone, and Calvert County Public Schools Learning Specialist Steven Van Rees, who is also a Master Teacher for the MSDE Educator Effectiveness Academies. After each speaker presented about the CCSS, the panel responded to questions from the audience. DianeWorkman, Assistant Superintendent of Operations for Calvert County PublicSchools, was pleased that a regional forum was held in Calvert County.
