CHS and PHS Students Present to Administrators

Student groups from Calvert High School and Patuxent High school recently presented at the monthly meeting of Calvert County Public Schools administrators and supervisors. Members of Calvert High’s MAC (Minority Achievement Committee) Scholars and Patuxent High's Minority Scholarship Cohort and Place at the Table shared their high school accomplishments and challenges and spoke of the support they have received from their peers, teachers and administrators through their membership in these groups. The students spoke most eloquently, however, about the elementary and middle schools students they mentor. Francis Forrest, vice principal of Patuxent High, noted that these students are dedicated to rigorous academic achievement and committed to community service. He said, "They are active leaders for our student body and have a significant positive influence on the students they mentor."
